The Chaudhrys

Sometimes people pose for pictures, then immediately regret it.  They chase me around trying to steal my camera so they can delete it.  They force me to sleep with my camera on my wrist burried under my pillow just to insure it's survival.  In the end, they beg and plead that I don't post the picture online.  Sometimes I agree not to post it.  Sometimes I lie.  (ps - click on it to see the full pic)

Electoral Votes
Posted October 22, 2004 at 08:47:05 AM by Bean

According to the realclearpolitics.com electoral vote watch, if the election was held today, Bush would win 276 to 262. That's with Bush barely getting FL (27 EVs, ahead by 1%) and Kerry barely getting OH (20 EVs, ahead by 0.3%). Besides those two, each state's leader currently holds more than a 1% lead in the polls, on average.

Go W!

Debate Wrap-up
Posted October 14, 2004 at 03:15:06 PM by Bean

Just a quick two cents:

I thought Kerry wont the first debate, Cheney won the VP debate, Bush won the 2nd debate, and the 3rd debate was a draw.  I call it a draw mainly because I just lost intrest in it.  PS: Kerry is such a doosh.

Presidential Debate #2
Posted October 11, 2004 at 12:41:50 PM by Bean

Watched this debate Friday night with Stef and a few friends. We decided to take a queue from a fish and turn it into a drinking game. The rules were:

  • If Kerry says "I have a plan" - drink
  • If Bush says "Merika," "Terrism," or makes up any other word - drink
  • If either mention "Iraq" - drink
  • If either say "Shazam" - slam

There may have been more rules, but that "Iraq" one was enough to make the game hard to keep up with. Good times were had by all, including George Bush, who IMHO, whipped Kerry's ace. I was shocked at first when I saw that most major media networks reported a landslide victory for Kerry. To quote BD-LongStroke (RIP) "Ri-god-damn-diculous." I guess I shouldn't be suprised, though, they think the Dems have won all 3 - hell, they still think Gore won in 2000.

BUSH / CHENEY '04 !

VP Debate
Posted October 06, 2004 at 08:45:04 AM by Bean

I think it's obvious that Cheney won the debate last night, so I wont slather you with details.  I just want to focus on my favorite part.

After referring to Senator John Edwards' record in the senate as undistinguished and exposing how FEW votes he actually participated in, Dick finished him off with this:

"Now, in my capacity as vice president, I am the president of Senate, the presiding officer. I'm up in the Senate most Tuesdays when they're in session. The first time I ever met you was when you walked on the stage tonight."

I swear I thought I saw a few beads of sweat well up on John's forehead.  And why the hell did he keep sticking his tongue out?

Anyway, leave it to the left-wing mainstream media to try to combat the remark with:

  • On Feb. 1, 2001, the vice president thanked Edwards by name at a Senate prayer breakfast and sat beside him during the event.
  • On April 8, 2001, Cheney and Edwards shook hands when they met off-camera during a taping of NBC's "Meet the Press," moderator Tim Russert said Wednesday on "Today."
  • On Jan. 8, 2003, the two met when the first-term North Carolina senator accompanied Elizabeth Dole to her swearing-in by Cheney as a North Carolina senator, Edwards aides also said.

What?!  So they attended a few functions together?  So they were interviewed on the same television show?  The point that Dick Cheney was making was that John Edwards has a horrible attendance record in the Senate and obviously has priorities above and beyond serving the American people as an elected official.

BETZ, DEBATE, EVER.

Al-Jazeera
Posted October 01, 2004 at 11:30:10 AM by Bean

What the fuck is up with this Al-Jazeera television station? Every time I open up Google News, there is a story on there like this:

An audio tape purportedly released by Osama bin Laden's deputy calls for attacks on U.S. and British interests everywhere, according to a broadcast Friday by Al-Jazeera television.

Or this:

The British hostage in Iraq, Kenneth Bigley, appeared huddled in a cage in a videotape broadcast on the satellite news channel Al-Jazeera.

Why don't we just bomb the shit out of that place? More publicity for the terrorist leaders, instruction, and kidnappings only hurt our cause. One or two well placed MOABs would probably do the trick.
