New Phone
Posted March 28, 2008 at 06:17:06 AM by Bean
I need a new cell phone. I want to be able to get on the tubes, send and receive text messages and email easily, and make the occasional phone call. Music and video and whatnot would be cool, but not necessary. I prefer the Verizon network because it gets good reception everywhere I frequent and because most of my friends and family are on it.

Anybody got any suggestions?

Hard to go wrong with a Palm Treo - had one for 2 years, solid without being uber fancy. They're basically the Honda Civic of smartphones.

I have had a good time with the blackberry pearl.

Verizon will stick it to you with their data plans. Sprint is better in that regard. I love my Treo 650 but its getting dated (2 years). Probably switching to a Palm Centro soonish.

I am a robot, just so you know, but I had to lie to submit my comment.

Yeah - the data plans for verizon are way high. sprint gets shitty reception at my house tho...

fuck. guess I'll just hold out for another year.

Also, re: "I have had a good time with the black Barry Pearl"

You know how I know you're gay?

the Blackberry is simple and easy to handle. I receive emails instantly and can text just fine, as you know =)

I wouldnt go with a Palm anything...UNLESS you are wanting the internet pages to come up exactly as they do on the computer. the Blackberry breaks the pages down, but it works fine for me because i'm not looking up detailed things when I go online

Blackberry package, unlimited text/unlimited data = $50

with tmobile the bb unlimited is only 30 bones.
