Alright - another Eko ep.
Libby uttered "Michael" as she died. Nobody seemed to catch the clue, but in the preview, we see Sayid suggesting that Michael's been compromised.
Eko's brother Yemi has been contacting him through dreams and through other people, leading him to the big ? from Johns map. Then find it, and it's another hatch (5 of 6, The Pearl) that is a monitoring station, confirming the theory that the button-pressing at The Swan is a psych experiment. Locke loses all faith in the button (and himself), but Eko just believes in it more than ever. Eko gathers up notebooks and logs and they head back home.
Next week, we'll get to see the "others" campsite, and it looks like there's a fight. It's about time.

For as much information as was in that episode, your blog was certainly short.

Really? I didn't think there was much. I mean, there was some good stuff, but as far as actual plot movement - I think I summed it up.
Anyway - so the button was a hoax. What else is a hoax? Could the whole "send michael back to free henry" just be part of it all? Is the entire island a setup?
That new orientation video showed the degroots overseeing a bunch of people exercizing... whats that have to do with anything I wonder. It seems like they were training them... for something.
I feel a tingling sense of frustration about to come over me in 2 weeks, when season 2 ends.

You know, I don't think they never came out and said in the training video that the button was a hoax. They said it was an experiement, and that the participants thought it was important that they "carry out their actions" but they never said the button was a fake, or even that it was the button they were talking about. It probably was, but that seems like the type of assumption the Lost writers would want us to make, just to make us feel stupid later.

jewfich is right. Seems like when things become "obvious" on this show, they are even mo betta likely to be misleading.

So, John and I were talking about the ep last night and came to the conclusion that the "?" that Eko saw from up on the cliff... the salted earth pattern... was actually a circle. Good thread at The 'lage with screencaps and whatnot. Makes more sense as a circle to me... a symbol for the "pearl"... just another hatch, not the big daddy in the center of the blastdoor map.

During the next two eps: "We are going to tell you why the plane crashed," says Cuse. "We're going to explain what happens if you don't push the button. And we're going to resolve the Michael-and-Walt story."
