Some Great News About Cookie Crisp
Posted January 16, 2006 at 09:45:54 AM by Bean in the Plugs category
I'm going to write this blog assuming the following premise: Everyone loves Cookie Crisp breakfast cereal.

Cookies for breakfast, I mean, come one, who could pass that up? I'll tell you who: anyone concerned about their health. After all, doesn't it seem like eating miniature cookies first thing in the morning might not be great foir your health? Well, my cookie-loving blog readers, I'm here to tell you today that YOU CAN EAT COOKIES FOR BREAKFAST AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO FEEL GUILTY!

A cursory comparison of the nutritional value of 1 cup of Cookie Crisp cereal versus 1 cup of Cheerios shows very little difference.

Cookie CrispCheerios

Fat (g)12
Carbs (g)2622
Protien (g)13

Cheerios has a little more protien, but twice the fat too. And I don't know about you, but I have to add either sugar or fruit to my Cheerios to make them edible.

Long live Cookie Crisp!

The sugar comparision weighs heavily on the Cookie Crisp side, which you did not post. Cheerios does have a lot more in the way of vitamins and nutrients, but I was suprised about how close the calorie content and fat were.

not that heavy.

tried ote the vanilla creme mini frosted wheat yesterday, tasty

that dude on b&t had it right, cereal is like heroin. you don't buy heroin to "have on hand", you buy it to use it, right now. Once I stop eating cereal, I can't stop. It's so unfilling and so tasty, I could easilty eat a whole box.

perhaps that's why I'm fat?

As a kid, I used to eat cereal out of a giant tupperware bowl that was usually used to toss salads for family meals.

perhaps that's why I'm fat?

actually most sugary yummy cereals have less calories and fat than the supposedly "healthy" cereals. like i eat raisin bran somewhat frequently, and it has like 90 more calories per bowl than captain crunch.

It just so happens that right next to my half-empty box of Cookie Crisp is a half empty box of Cap'n Crunch!
