Another New Blog
Posted November 08, 2005 at 09:46:28 AM by Bean in the Blog Updates category
I'm switching to a new blog tool. This time, I'm writing my own (you are viewing it right now). I know enough PHP and MySQL to make something usable, and I'll have complete control over formatting and whatnot. I've imported all of my blogger posts, and I'll be working on getting my old webcrimson posts in here as well as updating old blog text to clean up the links I break.

Commenting shoudl still work, so if you see any problems on the page, leave me a note under this entry. I probably won't be adding much new content until I get this straightened up. So solly.

was uber confused when i first loaded it, not bad though
Bean (November 08, 2005 at 01:00:40 PM):
I've got it set up so I can rearange all of the differenmt blocks and tweak the layout pretty easily. You think I should take it bakc to the 2-column layout?

Shit's mostly working... I still need t0 fix broken links to old .com and .org sites, but i think I'll just do that as I find them. Also, I am not going to import the old comments into this system, but I did tack on a link to the backblog comments onto the end of older entries.

Is it WordPress?
Bean (November 10, 2005 at 08:56:44 AM):
No Al, it's a custom-written site. I started from scratch. A few PHP files, a stylesheet, and a MySQL backend.
